Two-Factor Authentication
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is at the very core of AuthAnvil. 2FA solves the password problem by requiring something users know (username + password) and something they have (a token or smartphone app). This combination makes users prove they are who they claim to be and is incredibly effective in protecting against brute-force, phishing, and social engineering attacks.
AuthAnvil Authenticator App
With the AuthAnvil Authenticator mobile app, your users’ iPhone or Android devices can address all of their 2FA needs for both work and personal accounts. Out-of-Band Authentication via Push
Using the AuthAnvil Authenticator smartphone app, users can complete their secondary authentication using a separate channel (in this case, a mobile network) to approve a push notification and verify their identity. This effectively thwarts attackers attempting to capture second-factor passcodes a user enters over the same channel as their primary login (i.e., the internet). As a result, the out-of-band technology featured in AuthAnvil push authentication is remarkably resilient to phishing attacks.
